Eating Healthy Near the Texas Medical Center

Eating health is a top priority of Dr. Galati, and it's not unusual for him to give recommendations on where to eat near the office. Many of the patients travel a significant distance for the visit, and before leaving town, are interested in a bite to eat. For those patients more local, these recommendations can be visited again and again. Of course, home prepared food is always best-fresh and natural.

Salata

6620 Fannin St.
Houston, Texas 77030
(713) 797-0700

Salata, the Latin origin of the word salad, is the next generation salad bar, where you can create your own, tossed-to-order fresh and healthy salads and salad wraps. Our service is fast and friendly and our setting is warm, chic and inviting.

The Salata in the Texas Medical Center is next door to Liver Specialists of Texas. You can have a healthy lunch for under $10.00.

Regardless of where you eat a salad, the DRESSING is always loaded with added calories you don't expect or need. Avoid all "creamy" style dressings; stick with oil and vinegar based options.

Goode Company Seafood

2621 Westpark Drive
Phone: (713) 523-7154

This original Goode Company Seafood is an experience like few others. From the chrome bar stools to the original Wurlitzer, this railcar dining experience is truly a one of a kind.

Open Sunday-Thursday: 11am - 10pm, Friday-Saturday: 11am-11pm

A favorite of Dr. Galati's, you can have a healthful seafood meal here. As always, beware of dishes that have excessive salt added to the meal. Ask your server to prepare the dish with "no added salt". It always a best bet if you have one of the grilled fish dinners. Skip the desert if you are watching calories.

BEWARE: AVOID RAW OYSTERS.
