The majority of his referrals are for patients with chronic type C hepatitis -- most of which have previously failed some form of therapy or have now developed complications. He is conducting research in several areas of liver disease, including the effect of liver disease on the function of the stomach and intestines as well as viral hepatitis in collaboration with other colleagues nationally and internationally.

I have been on HCV therapy in the past when you drew interferon out of a vial...giving away may age here. I discontinued therapy due to the side effects. After an open gallbladder removal at St.Lukes my surgeon Dr. Wood commented he had completed the liver biopsy that I requested and that I had early stage cirrhosis. Regarding Victrelis-Telaprevir: As I understand it, the dosage regimen for these drugs is strict, involving 8-hour cue dosing or dosing every 7-9 hours, and missed doses may cause resistance. Dr Galati, My husband is 55 year old has HCV for about 20 years, had interferon 's 2 over the years with no response. He has developed cirrhosis and has 6 month screening for HCC. Last week he was dx'd with a 1.4cm arteial phase enhancing lesion to the left liver lobe concerning HCC<br>His AST 68, ALT66, Bilirubin 0.4 AFT 22.6 but I know that they go up and down from the rejuvenation of the the liver.
